TURKEY TOURIST VISA

A Turkish Tourist Visa is an authorization to enter Turkey and stay here for a specific amount of time under purposes related to tourism as sightseeing, vacations, visiting friends or family members, etc.

A Turkey Tourist visa can be obtained in two forms, according to your nationality.

  • e-visa for tourism purposes.
  • Turkish Sticker Visa for tourists.

For tourists wanting to visit the country a tourist visa is required. This is called the short-stay visa. With this visa you can stay up to 30 days in Turkey for tourism purposes. You cannot engage in any paid activities during the duration of your stay. There is an e-visa facility to obtain this visa.

Do I Need a Turkey Tourist Visa?

 In recent years the country is trying to increase the number of visitors which stagnated after a failed coup and several terrorist attacks. As a result, nationals many countries will be able to travel visa-free to Turkey, and many others can apply for an e-visa, which is quick and easy to get.

On the other hand, Russian passport holders can enter Turkey visa-free and stay here for up to 90 days within half a year, without exceeding a maximum of 60 days per visit.

Nationals of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brunei, Costa Rica, Latvia, Macao, Mongolia, Thailand, and Turkmenistan as well, can stay in Turkey for up to 30 days per visit, and 90 days per six months.

What is an e-visa?

An e-visa for Turkey is an official document permitting entry as well as travel within Turkey. This can be obtained online after entering the required information and making the payment.

Indian nationals are eligible for the Turkish e-visa, provided that they meet the criteria.

An e-visa is only valid when the purpose of travel to Turkey is tourism or commerce. For work in Turkey or study abroad in Turkey, the relevant visa will have to be applied for at a Turkish Embassy or Consulate.

An e-visa for Turkey can be applied for any time before traveling to Turkey. However, an e-visa application must be made online at least 48 hours before departure to Turkey.

  • Proof of having enough finances to support your travel and stay in the country
  • A cover letter with all the required details about your itinerary
  • Letter from the organization where the applicant is working
  • Recent statement from your bank
  • Income tax statements
  • Travel insurance policy that will cover major injuries or accidents
